Proofreading is the final edit before print. By the time a proofreader sees the copy, all other edits have been made. I look solely for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting issues. It does not include rewording sentences or restructuring content.

Copyediting is the step in the process where a careful eye is turned to make sure your writing is free of wordiness, incorrect wording, cumbersome transitions, inconsistent flow, grammar and spelling. At this stage, changes will be made to the document to improve flow and ensure the best readability and understanding without losing the author's voice.
